About Pilates

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates almost 100 years ago, to help rehabilitate injured WW1 soldiers.  It is now widely practised around the world to help improve muscular strength and endurance, balanced postural alignment, core strength, mobility and graceful movement.
I was originally exposed to Pilates practice as part of my dance training over 30 years ago and have personally reaped the rewards from practising Pilates on a regular basis.  I am passionate about empowering you to take charge of your own health, and I believe that practising Pilates can be great self care for you to enjoy pain-free movement.
